the Descour family: and baby Amelie makes... four! | Brooklyn, NY maternity & newborn lifestyle
I met the very gorgeous and very pregnant Jeanne in mid-October, when she contacted me about a lifestyle maternity session after finding my information posted on our school's board. Surely we should have met sooner: our sons both are in the same French dual-language kindergarden class! Therefore, meeting her was exciting for more than one reason. Being a former doula (and myself a mom who did not capture the glory of my pregnant body as I had wanted), I ADORE capturing the beauty of a pregnant woman. And surely, both our sweet sons were to be friends (and they indeed have become fast ones since).
After our relaxed and beautiful outdoor lifestyle family/maternity session in McGolrick Park here in Brooklyn, I was super excited to hear that Jeanne would love to have me also capture newborn pictures of her baby girl to be, Amelie!
Since now late November is cold and gray, we decided an indoor session in the Descour Brooklyn apartment would be better than an outdoor one. After all, capturing all those exquisite baby parts is hard when baby is all covered up! Though the light might not be as lush as it had been for our outdoor session (we are in NY and November, after all) and with the added component of being indoors with North-facing windows, I knew that as long as light of any kind was pouring through the windows, we would be able to get some luminous shots. And so, on a mid-afternoon on a grey and drizzly November Saturday, I got to glimse into the new life of the Descours, which now included the precious little Amelie. And the images I was honored to capture turned out to be truly bathed in light (and love).
After her nursing session, a crying baby Amelie craddled and soothed in her mama's arms.
