the Suttons: toddler & family lifestyle (play) session in Brooklyn Bridge Park | Brooklyn, NY fa

When my daughter was in kindergarten, Ms. Laura Sutton was her French dual-language kindergarten teacher. I went along with Laura and the kids on all their trips, as chaperone, but more than that, as their class' un-official photographer. I would capture all the beautiful, smiling, happy, amazed little faces - then send off the images to all the parents, all those who'd been with me there and those could not make it, as well as to Laura.

I guess I must have made a good impression with my very un-official and non-formal images, because at our school's Fundraiser, Laura bid on my studio's donated session, and won. I was honored, flattered, and thrilled to get to photograph her outside of the school setting. This time, I would get to capture her with her own little one.

We settled on a sunset session at Brooklyn Bridge Park. And once there, I just let them play, and be themselves, just like I had with the school kids on our trips together. The rest is all their magic. Now captured and saved into treasured memories.
